Igbo community in New Zealand was formed in March, 2006 with the aim of bringing together Ndi-Igbo of Eastern Nigeria that reside in New Zealand. Hence our motto: NWANNE-DI-NA-MBA, meaning "Brothers and Sisters in foreign land". We are committed to the progress of Ndi-Igbo and keeping the Ibo language, culture and tradition alive.
We are also committed to teaching this culture and language to the younger generation here in our adopted country.
The association exists to advance the welfare of its members and foster peace, co-existence with other ethnic groups.
We respect the laws of New Zealand and condemn any unlawful acts including scam, drug and other related offences.
Unequivocally, we can say that we are law abiding citizens of New Zealand.
